I\u2019m south Asian (Pakistani) so going to the Taj Mahal, close to my ancestral roots with my family, would be the finishing touch.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asianexpress.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Imran-Fazil-at-the-Colosseum-in-Italy_24-jpeg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-51114\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">2008: Imran got the &#8216;travel bug&#8217; after he visited the Colosseum in Rome <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Imran first visited the Colosseum in Rome, Italy, in 2008, one of the newly added wonders of the world. Bit by the travel bug, he wanted to complete the rest of the challenge and visit the other countries.<br>&nbsp;<br>As part of his travels, Imran paid a trip to the Great Pyramids in Egypt where the only surviving of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World stands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asianexpress.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Imran-Fazil-at-Cairo-in-Egypt_24-jpeg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-51109\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Imran fulfilled his lifelong dream of visiting the Great Pyramids in Egypt<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asianexpress.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Imran-Fazil-at-Chichen-Itza-in-Mexico_24-jpeg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-51110\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Imran Fazil at\u00a0Chich\u00e9n Itz\u00e1\u00a0in Mexico<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Imran, a secondary school ICT and PE teacher, said: \u201cFrom a young age, I wanted to always travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asianexpress.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Imran-Fazil-at-the-Great-Wall-of-China_24-jpeg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-51115\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Imran Fazil at the Great Wall of China<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen I went to Rome in 2008 it had loads of beautiful places like the Vatican and the Colosseum. Just so much history. I found that it was one of the new wonders of the world, so it has always been on my list to do the others.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Imran adds that Machu Picchu in Peru is his favourite place that he\u2019s visited, because of its mesmerising views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said: \u201cEach one of the wonders has its own unique experiences but the Machu Picchu was breathtaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asianexpress.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Imran-Fazil-at-Machu-Picchu-in-Peru_24-jpeg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-51112\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Imran&#8217;s favourite Wonder of the World &#8211; the historic sanctuary Machu Picchu in Peru<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI would encourage people to go see these wonderful places. With each one, you get to feel the culture and see lots of other travellers from around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Imran has previously visited various other countries including America, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia and Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But after completing the \u2018Seven Wonders\u2019 check-list, he hopes to visit Africa again. \u201cI&#8217;ve not explored Africa as much as I\u2019d have liked,\u201d he explains. \u201cAreas such as Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. I\u2019m excited about having the chance to see their different cultures, landscape, food and people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He concludes with a travel mantra: &#8220;We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us. Travelling to all of these countries has opened up my mind, to be grateful for what I have.
