Dr Mohammad Faisal and British Asian Trust Ambassadors including music producer Naughty Boy and Pakistani actor Sanam Saeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The British Asian Trust Iftar attracted a diverse gathering of 350 guests from the South Asian Muslim diaspora, including celebrities, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, business leaders, professionals, and the Trust&#8217;s Ambassadors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Guests generously donated over \u00a3250,000 at the Iftar (breaking of the fast).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"49447\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asianexpress.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Z72_1832_24-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49447\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"49450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asianexpress.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Z72_2397_24-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49450\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"49449\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asianexpress.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Z72_1965_24-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49449\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"49448\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asianexpress.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Z72_1920_24-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49448\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"49446\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asianexpress.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/sadiq-khan_DSF3390_24-jpeg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49446\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event highlighted the often unspoken and invisible struggle of mental health issues and raised funds for the Trust&#8217;s vital Mental Health programmes in Pakistan and Bangladesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The British Asian Trust was founded in 2007 by His Majesty King Charles III (when he was His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales) and a group of British Asian entrepreneurs, to tackle poverty, inequality and injustice in South Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said: &#8220;Ramadan is a time for charity and giving and this year the British Asian Trust has put together another wonderful Iftar event to support those in need with mental health services. The Trust&#8217;s work has been life-changing for people and I am proud to support them again this Ramadan.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">British Asian Trust Chief Executive Richard Hawkes added: &#8220;The British Asian Trust has been working to improve the lives of people with mental health issues for over a decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur work aims to fundamentally change the mental health landscape by destigmatising and raising awareness of mental health, promoting accessible and affordable services for all and building coalitions of support to drive change.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The evening was hosted by BBC broadcaster and British Asian Trust Ambassador Asad Ahmad.
