{"id":8427,"date":"2024-03-05T11:40:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-05T11:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp26.cmswebdeveloper.com\/asian-news\/servitude-bradford-man-whos-raised-over-800000-for-charity-launches-community-kitchen\/"},"modified":"2024-03-05T11:40:00","modified_gmt":"2024-03-05T11:40:00","slug":"servitude-bradford-man-whos-raised-over-800000-for-charity-launches-community-kitchen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp26.cmswebdeveloper.com\/asian-news\/servitude-bradford-man-whos-raised-over-800000-for-charity-launches-community-kitchen\/","title":{"rendered":"SERVITUDE: Bradford man who\u2019s raised over \u00a3800,000 for charity launches community kitchen"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asianexpress.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Khidma-Kitchen-1_24-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49265\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">(l-r) Founder of the Khidma Community Kitchen Nazim Ali, with volunteers Mohammed Azeem, 12-year-old Muhammad Abdullah Adnan, Khurram Aziz and Haji Adnan Fiaz<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A Bradford man who\u2019s raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for numerous charitable causes, celebrated the inaugural launch of his local community warm food hub.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nazim Ali, who received an Honorary Fellowship last year from the University of Bradford, has to date single-handedly raised around \u00a3800,000 for local and global causes, and annually carries out hospital gift-giving for poorly children across Yorkshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the inaugural launch of his Nazim Ali Foundation \u2018Khidma Community Kitchen\u2019 on 27th February, he carried out local outreach work and provided 129 warm two-course meals for some of Bradford\u2019s most vulnerable and needy people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prior to the launch of the &#8216;Khidma Community Kitchen&#8217; (Khidma meaning \u2018service\/servitude in Arabic) there was a gap in food provision in the Bradford District on a Tuesday evening for those in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nazim explains: \u201cFor over ten years I have volunteered at the Curry Circle Food Provision on a Thursday at Manningham Library, and have seen the importance of such community kitchens due to people struggling from food poverty an the cost of living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDuring the launch of our community kitchen, we received so much positive feedback from service users, who were ever so thankful. This was incredibly heartwarming, and reaffirmed the need for me to begin this community kitchen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI passionately believe that charity starts at home.
