{"id":8255,"date":"2023-08-18T12:48:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-18T12:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp26.cmswebdeveloper.com\/asian-news\/solicitor-whos-dedicated-more-than-half-her-life-to-her-city-humbled-by-prestigious-honour\/"},"modified":"2023-08-18T12:48:00","modified_gmt":"2023-08-18T12:48:00","slug":"solicitor-whos-dedicated-more-than-half-her-life-to-her-city-humbled-by-prestigious-honour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp26.cmswebdeveloper.com\/asian-news\/solicitor-whos-dedicated-more-than-half-her-life-to-her-city-humbled-by-prestigious-honour\/","title":{"rendered":"Solicitor who&#8217;s dedicated more than half her life to her city, humbled by prestigious honour"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asianexpress.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/ruby-bhatti-1_23-jpeg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-47898\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ruby Bhatti, who has dedicated around 25-years in advisory roles for her home city of Bradford, says she is humbled to be handed a prestigious county honour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Solicitor Dr Ruby Bhatti OBE has over three decades experience in the legal field and holds numerous non-executive directorships across the housing, education, youth, and health sectors, has been appointed as one of six new Deputy Lieutenants for West Yorkshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She says: \u201cI was so honoured to be appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant, and I am determined to support the Lord Lieutenant and the King to bring closer links between the Lieutenancy and the wonderful work that is happening in all communities across the county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asianexpress.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/IMG_2156_23-jpeg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-47899\" width=\"325\" height=\"285\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Lord Lieutenant Mr Ed Anderson announced the six newly appointed Deputy Lieutenants for West Yorkshire<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis appointment will also help me to foster good relations and understanding between the different kinds of organisations and individual contributions in every part of the county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHaving over 30 years experience supporting the voluntary and third sector, I have first-hand experience of the impact volunteers have supporting local charities. I feel privileged through this role I will be able to highlight this work!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Bhatti OBE sits on the Service User and Carers Advisory Board in the Faculty of Health Studies at the University of Bradford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Talking about her day-to-day role she says: \u201cI am very fortunate as my day to day role varies each day. There is no day that is the same!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe work I do can be locally, regionally and nationally where I attend meetings around advocating insight and knowledge about Bradford people\u2019s voices as a patient or carer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI am also a reviewer for the NHS Innovation Accelerator committee; ACCIA (Advisory Committee on Clinical Impact Awards) Department of Health and Social Care and NHS and some evenings are spent reviewing applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIn the week, I also carry out legal work part-time as a solicitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIn between this, I am also an associate lecturer at the University of Bradford supporting teaching in the School of Law in term time and Faculty of Health throughout the year.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ruby Bhatti, who has dedicated around 25-years in advisory roles for her home city of Bradford, says she is humbled to be handed a prestigious county honour.
