{"id":8031,"date":"2023-01-18T10:26:00","date_gmt":"2023-01-18T10:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp26.cmswebdeveloper.com\/asian-news\/paedophile-going-to-prison-after-court-of-appeal-rules-previous-sentence-was-unduly-lenient\/"},"modified":"2023-01-18T10:26:00","modified_gmt":"2023-01-18T10:26:00","slug":"paedophile-going-to-prison-after-court-of-appeal-rules-previous-sentence-was-unduly-lenient","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp26.cmswebdeveloper.com\/asian-news\/paedophile-going-to-prison-after-court-of-appeal-rules-previous-sentence-was-unduly-lenient\/","title":{"rendered":"Paedophile going to prison after Court of Appeal rules previous sentence was unduly lenient"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asianexpress.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/uk_court_legal_gavel_justice_gavel_22-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-46132\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A man found with more than 4,000 indecent images of children on his devices will now spend time in prison after his previous sentence was found to be unduly lenient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kevin Porter, 62, pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children and three counts of taking indecent images of children, at Guildford Crown Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was sentenced to 10 months\u2019 imprisonment, suspended for 18 months, ordered to do 40 days of Rehabilitation, given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years and a Deprivation Order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the sentencing on 11 November 2022, it was referred to the Court of Appeal under the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme for being too low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Porter\u2019s original sentence was found to be unduly lenient by the Court on 17 January 2023 and was increased to an immediate imprisonment of 3 years and 4 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking after the hearing, the Solicitor General Michael Tomlinson KC MP said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis is an appalling case.
