Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival 2022 Programming Chair Denise Mina will look to snatch her third win for \u2018The Less Dead\u2019, as will \u2018Rabbit Hole\u2019 author Mark Billingham, who took home the inaugural award in 2005 and again in 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chris Brookmyre, who won the 2017 prize, is in the running again with \u2018The Cut while Blood Ties\u2019 author Brian McGilloway, who was highly commended at last year\u2019s prize, is also longlisted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other prize alumni on the 2022 longlist include four-time shortlistees Elly Griffiths with \u2018The Night Hawks\u2019 and Mick Herron with \u2018Slough House\u2019, as well as previous longlistees Ann Cleeves with \u2018The Heron\u2019s Cry\u2019, Erin Kelly with \u2018Watch Her Fall\u2019, Imran Mahmood with I Know What I Saw\u2019, Joseph Knox for \u2018True Crime Story\u2019, Laura Shepherd-Robinson\u2019s Georgian detective novel \u2018Daughters of Night\u2019, Stuart Turton with genre-bending whodunnit \u2018The Devil and the Dark Water\u2019, and William Shaw for \u2018The Trawlerman\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asianexpress.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Theakston-Old-Peculier-Crime-Writing-Festival-2022_22-1024x340.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44650\"\/><figcaption>Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival 2022. M.W. Craven receives a nod for Dead Ground, while Vaseem Khan is featured for his novel Midnight at Malabar House, set in the turbulent streets of Bombay in 1950.
